Joe Gorman’s 2024 Mersey Roads 24 hour race
Joe was planning on building upon his big achievement of last year [see Joe Gorman’s 2023 CTT 24 hour National Team Championship Win]
However it was a very disappointing end for him this time as he had to withdraw from the event.
He was suffering with saddle soreness, and to avoid the pain he needed to sit on the tip of the saddle which placed a lot of pressure onto his arms.
This resulted in him struggling with numb arms and hands which got the better of him as it eventually became unsafe to ride.
It was all the more disappointing as Joe was valiantly holding third position after 12 hours of riding and completed 286 miles.
Joe’s support team included his wife Charlotte and fellow SCC member Steffan Ford.
Joe is now looking forward to an upcoming 12 hour event and is experimenting with different saddles and configurations. Watch this space!
