Training Rides
Weekend training rides happen every Saturday and Sunday through the whole year.
We know that joining a cycling club can be a bit daunting so we make every effort to put you at ease from the beginning. Unlike many clubs, we don’t have loads of rules, it’s a club very much for the members. We don’t charge non-members to ride with us and there’s no pressure to join. If you can comfortably ride 40 miles at an average of 16 -17 miles an hour, just turn up at one of our Sunday morning club rides.
A road bike (racing bike) is essential but it doesn’t need to be an expensive one! Please make sure your bike is mechanically sound with good tyres and brakes and don’t forget to bring spare inner tubes, a pump, some drink and food.
We meet outside HSBC bank at 9.30am each Sunday
Saturday rides are a bit tougher – between 50 and 70 miles at around 18-21 miles an hour depending on the group. We generally have 2 groups in the summer, an A group and a B group. If you would like to join us, we meet on the corner of Ely Close and Norwich Close each Saturday at 9.00am. Please email the club to let us know you’ll be joining us.
There are additional rides in the Summer evenings – chain gang rides for the very determined and more social for those looking for a gentler evening. Just get in touch with us to see when the next rides are going.
